چکیده

We propose a new multivariate CUSUM control chart, which is based on selfadaption of its reference value according to the information of current process readings, to quickly detect the multivariate process mean shifts. By specifying the minimum magnitude of the process mean shift in terms of its non-centrality parameter, our proposed control chart can achieve an overall performance for detecting a particular range of shifts. This adaptive feature of our method is based on two EWMA operators to estimate the current process mean level and make the detection at each step be approximately optimal. Moreover, we compare our chart to the conventional multivariate CUSUM chart. The advantages of our control chart detection for range shifts over the existing charts are greatly improved. The Markovian chain method, through which the average run length can be computed, is also presented.

Mixed Exponentially Weighted Moving Average-Cumulative Sum Charts for Process Monitoring

The control chart is a very popular tool of statistical process control. It is used to determine the existence of special cause variation to remove it so that the process may be brought in statistical control. Shewhart-type control charts are sensitive for large disturbances in the process, whereas cumulative sum (CUSUM)–type and exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA)–type control charts ...

An Evaluation of an Adaptive Generalized Likelihood Ratio Charts for Monitoring the Process Mean

When the objective is quick detection both small and large shifts in the process mean with normal distribution, the generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) control charts have better performance as compared to other control charts. Only the fixed parameters are used in Reynolds and Lou’s presented charts. According to the studies, using variable parameters, detect process shifts faster than fixed pa...

A Self-starting Control Chart for Simultaneous Monitoring of Mean and Variance of Simple Linear Profiles

In many processes in real practice at the start-up stages the process parameters are not known a priori and there are no initial samples or data for executing Phase I monitoring and estimating the process parameters. In addition, the practitioners are interested in using one control chart instead of two or more for monitoring location and variability of processes. In this paper, we consider a s...

Multivariate Cusum Control Charts Based on data depth For Preliminary Analysis

In this paper, a CUSUM control chart based on data depth is considered for detecting a shift in either in the mean vector, the covariance matrix, or both of the process. The proposed chart is preferable from a robustness point of view, has attractive detection performances and can be useful in preliminary analysis setting where there is limited knowledge about the underlying process. A diagnost...

Adaptive Nonparametric CUSUM Control Chart with Variable Sampling Interval Strategy

In this paper, we propose a nonparametric CUSUM control chart for detecting a range of shifts in the location parameters based on previous research. This control chart is dynamically adaptive, ranks method-based nonparametric and self-starting; it can monitor various sizes of shifts in difference distributions simultaneously; and it can be used to monitor processes at the start-up stages. This ...
